ShotokanKid Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 So last night at around 11, I heard a door creak in the kitchen part ( I was in that area) the bedrooms are on the other side of the house so I thought someone was in the house. I grabbed 2 kitchen knives from the kinfe holder and started to cautiously approach the site of the sound. I pulled the door open, and it was my dad, who somehow got all the way to the study room without me hearing him. I'm an idiot. "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. aefibird Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 lol, good story! I've been know to grab a kitchen knife before if I've ever had to investigate a spooky noise. It usually turns out to be one of my animals (I have several pets) bumbling about the house. Hey, congratulations to you Isshinryu5toforever on your 1000th post - welcome to the KF blackbelt club! greenbelt_girl15 Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Of corse you're not the only one Shotokankid. I to have been known for grabing a kitchen knife or two when I have to check out a scary noise. One time my mom forgot to tell me that she was leaving my sleeping baby brother home when she went shopping.when I started hearing noises back there it scared me half to death, when I finaly got the nerve to check it out it was just my brother and the wind blowing through the cutain! lol God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, a spirit of power, and of self-discipline.2 Timothy 1:7
June1 Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 Oh, jeez! I'm pretty much the same way! When I get home from school, I unlock my door while peeking over my shoulder every so often, since we're just by the stairwell (we live in an apartment building). Once I get in, I listen for any strange sounds. The bedroom doors are closed at this time, so after I've taken my shoes off and hung my jacket up in the closet, I proceed to my room, but on the way, violently throw open my parents' bedroom door, then my own. Why violently? In case anyone is in the bedroom, I can take them by surprise. Eh... it's my theory, anyway. I also keep a knife in my bedside table drawer. It's pretty much within arm's reach. The only hassle would be to have to open the drawer, find the knife, then remove it from its sheath. Yeah... we're weird. Kool Kiais: ICE! DIE! KITES! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH! aefibird Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 I also keep a knife in my bedside table drawer. I do that too, but I live in a drug-riddled, crime-filled neighbourhood whose only redeeming feature is that it has cheap house prices... "Was it really worth it?
