All the forms in Tang Soo Do, and possibly other arts, have a totum or an animal to represent them. The Cehco (basic) forms are represented by a toddler, the Pyang Ahn, a turtle, Nihanchi, an iron horse, Bassia, a cobra. Does any one out there know the rest? I have been currious about this for a long time, and please excuse my spelling for the names of the forms!!

Sip Su = Bear

Jinto (aka Jin Do) = Crane

Chil Sung (aka Chil Song) [A whole form Set] = No animal,... Seven Stars

Rohia (aka Lo Hi) = Heron (yeah, another crane...)

Kong San Kong (aka Kong Sang Koon) = Eagle

Sei Shan = Praying Mantis

Wong Shu = Little Bird

Jion = Mountain Goat

Yuk Ro [a whole form Set] = No animal. Each form had a prior name such as Du Mon (great gate), etc. Forms are based on techniques rediscovered by Grandmaster Hwang Kee through reading the Muye Dobo Tongji, similar to the Chil song forms.

The Okinawan form set (all the forms but the Giecho, Chil Song, and Yuk Ro forms) were borrowed from Okinawan karate in an effort to make Tang Soo Do more popular. The Tang Soo Do name was chosen (as opposed to Hwa Soo Do, or later Soo Bahk Do) for the same reason. It was more familiar to the Korean populace that had Japanse martial arts exposure.

I don't know of any. However there is a book by Kang Uk Lee called Tang Soo Do that has alot of the forms listed with the descriptive picture and a brief summary of the form and history.

Tang Soo Do "borrowed" these forms from Shotokan Karate. But since in Shotokan Karate these forms aren't associated by some animal, than why is this so in Tang Soo Do? Did Hwang Kee (founder of Tang Soo Do) made this up?

Grand Master Hwang Kee did not borow all the forms from Shotokan, He made three sets of them on his own, (Kechio, Chil Sung, and Yuk Ro) as for the others I'm not sure if he made the totem for each form up but I would highly doubt it! He did not just borrow from shotokan only, he borrowed form many other also.
