It's the best way i can describe it. In the Second form, from a Wing Arm, you turn stance and screw the wing arm into an upwards snap type punch. It comes from under the bridge and looks like an uppercut. It's about outside line recovery to the centre, or stealing the inside line and comes from under the bridge. It isn't really an uppercut but I can't think of how else to describe the Japanese punch I was talking about. I can't think of anything else from any other style that does something similar.

ohayo gozaimasu, o genki desu ka.

Uppercut, I have centerlined from chest or ab level to throat and face I guess this could be confused with an uppercut, but to be fair I have only studied concepts and I am not familiar with all of the proper terms and names. After a trap the next open shot may be the face or neck so the "uppercut" was taken in flow but, it is not like the uppercuts in the san shou or boxing techniques.

if you're doing that from a trap (the trapping hand) then i'm guessing you mean you've switched hands and just 'shot' the free hand to the jaw area whilst walking forward.

well, you don't trap with two hands anyway so one hand will always be free, else you're the one who's trapped.....
