Guitar_lover Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Yeah i am haveing trouble with this bit of footwork. Wonder if anyone understand it. In stead of the normal Arrow walk, it takes for back leg and as you step forward it become the front leg with a hip twist. Semi very karate like. You gain loads of power, well i would if i could do it right. Its semi at the moment, but it seems to leave you open, i could see it working if someone commented to an attack. What are Kung fu people in general opinion? PEACE AND LOVE."When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace"

busling Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I can't really understand what you are trying to achieve. Is it a full step forward instead of a half step forward? Train Hard --- http://www.combatcentres.com/
Nick_UKWC Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Um, sounds like a circle step to me but I'm not really sure If I get what you're saying. How can it be like an arrow step if your rear leg becomes your lead? Can you give an example of a techinique you've trained it with? Guitar_lover Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 Its not circle step or triangle. Its from the arrow walk stance, and its a kinda a lunge to quickly get to an attacker. i done it with tarn and punch in reponce to someone trying to attack you about a meter away. Because arrorw walk is about a shuffle distants you use that footwork. Also you gain alot more power, its a move used with knifes usaly. So thats the only way i can describe it. aefibird Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 If you could get hold of a video clip/clip link of it then that would be great. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!

ovine king Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 what exactly is the question? how to do the step? first of all, i cn't see what you are doing so i cant really comment. how-ever, if you can't step properly, the first thing that always comes to mind is that your hip might not be in the right place. when in a fixed stance, can you lift a leg without having to shift your weight/hip? if the asnwer is 'no', then your hip position is wrong. earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers.
Guitar_lover Posted March 18, 2005 Author Posted March 18, 2005 Its not arrow walk or turning on the side. Its a piece of footworkwork when you are useing the knifes. PEACE AND LOVE."When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace"
