Davison
Anyone ever tried to use hand and foot claws to climb anything? I had a pair once and I tried to climb a tree in my backyard and they killed the backs of my hands. I can see useing them as a weapon for fighting but for climbing, I don't think so. The movies make it look so real. Why punch someone when their on the ground when you can just kick them
Taku-Shimazu
Yes I have used them and I still do, more often than you would think. You say they killed your hands, did they not have padding? My pair are fine as far as pain goes, Did you say that you could use them? How high have you gone? My highest is about 25ft. on a tree. They are Ninja weapons actually (That is how I know them.) They are called Shuto? I update tommorrow. The cool summer breeze passes me by.
yamesu
They are Ninja weapons actually (That is how I know them.) They are called Shuto? Shuto = Knifehand. Shuko = Spiked hand bands. Ashiko = Spiked foot bands. 25ft you say? Please do get your uncle to take a photo of you next time your up this high. "We did not inherit this earth from our parents. yamesu
From what ive gathered from the Bujinkan, Shuko and Ashiko were not readily used as a climbing tool, but more as a tool for digging, to enhance close combat techniques, and to disarm attackers. Shuko may have been worn continually, although the impracticality of Ashiko made them a specialty tool. "We did not inherit this earth from our parents. We are borrowing it from our children."
