I was just wondering what everyone thought about the t.v show ultimate fighter? Does anyone think the fighters on the show could handle fighting pros like tito ortiz, vitor belfort etc... I personally don't think that any of them could get down with the big dogs. What's your opinion? :brow:

Why punch someone when their on the ground when you can just kick them

A couple of people at my dojang watch it. Mostly the last 5 minutes, just to see the fights. I watched the whole thing a couple of times, but it gave me the impression that it was a soap opera for men. So, I watch just the fight scenes :D

As far as those fighters hangin' with the pros, I wouldn't know. My grappling skills are limited, so it would be hard for me to answer that.

I watch it every week. It's about time they made a soap opera for martial arts. :P

It's cool to watch their training and warm-ups, catch the advice from Couture and Liddell, Willa Ford is hot, and the fights. Oh, and the drama between the fighters can satisfy your drama requirements.

Anybody watch this last week's episode?

Diego Sanchez dominated Josh Rafferty on the ground, taking the mount in seconds and proceeding to pound the living crap out of him until taking a win with a rear naked choke hold.

Man, Diego is seriously going to win the contract for his weight division. No contest.

Yes I saw it. I find these grappling matches pretty boring but he did lay a pretty good beating on Josh.

I think Josh made a huge mistake taking on Diego.

The grapplers so far have done pretty well in this series. But as I mentioned I don't think this makes for as exciting of a show.

Aye, looks like Diego is going all the way, though it's hard to say if he'd be able to mix it up with the big boys.

At this point I just want to see Lieben beaten...

Yeah, the only reason Chris Lieben is back is to tick off Josh Kroschek(sp). They've gotta satisfy the drama requirement.

I feel really bad for Nate, I liked him, so it's too bad about his ankle.

I looked at Diego Sanchez's past fights. It's nothing spectacular, but he's 11-0 wins to losses, usually by submission, but he's responsible for a few TKOs. Maybe he has some more striking experience than we've seen.

We need a see a really good striking match next.

I've seen this show a few times. I enjoy watching it and all. I think this show really exemplifies the difference between Martial Artists and these UFC guys. At the end of the fights, the loser gets mad, shouts, curses, flips people off, etc. I've only seen one person ever do this at a Martial Arts tournament and his Instructor put him in his place quickly.
