DasZab Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 When your children call you sensei even outside of class!I teach a bunch of high-school aged kids. Every time they know I'm going to their school (it's right across the street from the dojo) they all line up at attention in front of their classes until I "bow them in." ... THOSE KIDS ARE CRAZY La voie. La vérité. La vie.

Clash Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 That's gotta be one of the best jokes I've came p with in a while, I can just picture some one walking in to a public bathroom to see a guy standing there in front stance...
DC111 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 and this is me to a "T"- You know you're obsessed with martial arts when you get up in the morning sore, and the thought of going back to the dojo is all that keeps you going.Haha, that's me right now.And whoever said bowing while shaking someone's hand... I've done that before, too. It's more than just a martial art. It's responsibility and respect. It's friendship and trust. But most of all, it's a passion.
Geminias Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 While training for other sports you think about how the training is going to help your kicks/punches/etc
NewEnglands_KyoSa Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 here's one that i've lived:when you're getting an hour long MRI on your completely mutilated ankle and you go through ALL the open handed and weapon forms of TWO different martial arts styles in your head, step-by-step! "Smile. Show everyone that today you're stronger than you were yesterday."
Stlthofnight Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 When you enjoy practicing various throws in your back yard in the heat of the day with your friend and you're the ukeWhen you put the school wrestlers into a choke hold and forget they don't know to tap out. When you practice weapons katas with stage props while waiting during play rehersalWhen you actually break the stage props doing sowhen you scare your friends (MA or non-MA) while doing your kata When you plan your work schedule around your martial arts schedule. When you can determine the MA style of video game characters within 30 seconds. When you ask your Spanish teacher how to say Japanese words in SpanishAnd yes I've done all of these, but I don't play too many combat fighting games, just at my friends once in a while. "Be Water my friend.""The spirit of defeating a man is the same for ten million men." Miyamoto Mushahi
