uchinadi Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Hello Friends! Not long ago I dowland one Newsletter of this site: http://www.isok.org/ Is a PDF archive, in the Newsletter of Spring 98 I found some figures about Aragaki Unsu and I very interesed in this Kata. I know the Shotokan version and Shito-ryu version but the version of the Newsletter I never see. Anyone can help me to found this Kata in the web or know people of this site (http://www.isok.org/) to see and analyse this Kata via Internet. If anyone have figures in jpg, gif or other archives of this Kata please say me to this e-mail: uchinadi@hotmail.com Or in this forum, very thank you and sorry for my bad english. Regards.
Gyte Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I looked at the site you mentioned. Only one newsletter in the PDF archive contains a part of Aragaki Unsu in figures. However at the following link I found the complete kata Aragaki Unsu in figures. http://www.isok.org/pdf/aunsu.pdf It looks indeed quite different than Shotokan Unsu. I don't know how much it resembels Shito-ryu Unsu, because I don't know that kata. Correct me if I'm wrong, I thougth that nowadays Unsu is only practised in Shotokan and Shito-ryu. uchinadi Posted March 4, 2005 Author Posted March 4, 2005 Thank you my friend for your response!!!!! And yes in Honshu, Japan only Shotokan and Shito-ryu are practice Unsu Kata (Unsu in Shotokan and Unshu in Shito-ryu) but in Okinawa some styles minor are practiced this Kata.
