The Warrior you describe must be suicidal :P

:

HAHAHA

Anyways, Like someone already said, it's harsh to call someone a coward who doesn't want to die for honor. They live to fight another day but without honor.

Whether the names warrior and Coward is or isnt the right names to use, doesnt matter. If you want to use other names, then go ahead. I picked Warrior because it sounded romantic. However, I think that Coward is a very good name for the other character. But as I said. If you dont like it, then use another name.

Would you stop a mafia member and testify against him.

Yes, and then I would sign up for the Witness Protection Program and move to another state and change my name.

When you say Martial, it meens war and as a Marshall Artist (sorry for miss spelling) you are indeed a Warrior. But do we need to be a typical warrior we think of. Someone who fights other people physicaly. Of course if we are discussing helping people, if we can we should as human beings. But being in how i been taught a warrior or martial artist you should be one inside and out, in confronting yourself and others in all ways. In haveing the strenth to change ourselfs to be more respectfull, calm, dissaplined, reliable, respectfull or well mannered. In doing that you effect other people around you. To run away if you are attacked thats smart, if someone in troble and you choose not to help them and you can. Could be called cowardly, or heartless, but do we ever know the suitation i like to say i would and i feel pretty certain that i would.

Anyway thiers me chating what i think cheers.

We are trained to be warriors if we need to be a warrior. If that is a coward then i suppose I am a coward.... if someone tries to fight me in school, i usually look down on them and say dont be stupid.... unless they try to attack me, then I do not care of the consequences... as long as i can hurt them as much as possible.

The way of the warrior is a much sort after path, but is there room for that path in todays world?

Samurai would settle 'street fights' with swords and kill the loser of the battle.

Now adays the losers gets beaten up and comes back with friends for revenge.

perhaps the real question is why do any of you consider yourselves warriors? Most people who get into MA will never even get into a fight after they begin training - how can you be a warrior, without having been in a war? a streetfight is not a war, and many people will not even have that. The thought of a martial artist being a warrior these days is really not much more than nostalgic fantasy...

not to mention that our modern day martial arts are not war arts and the majority were never preacticed by any persons fighting in wars. if anything, our martial arts were mainly practiced by the rich people who had plenty of time to have such hobbies.

so would "idle people's arts" be a better name for what we practice?

No, They may not be used for war but some MA were designed for war and some places still teach these unchanged MA, even though they may never be used.
