Terminology: How do YOU say "face black belts" in

There are many titles for instructors: Jo Kyo Nim, Kyo Sa Nim, Sa Bom Nim, Gho San Nim, Noh Sa Nim, Do Ju Nim, Do Sa Nim, Kwan Jang Nim, etc.

When you add the "Ke" in the end of the title, it means, "towards."

"Charyot," means "Attention"

"Sa Bom Nim Ke" means, "towards the instructor."

"Gyung Yae" means "Bow."

Just add "Ke" to the end of the instructor title when you wish the students to face that instructor.

We always use cheriot, kyenyea or rook, cho.

All our kata are called in korean, but I would like to learn the korean for various punches/ kicks.

We bow to the different ranks only in the advanced classes. Otherwise, we only bow to the one leading the class.

Our command is pretty simple. It's the rank we plan to bow to, followed by "ge".

Facing the school Master: Kwahg Jahng Nim ge

Bow: kyung neh

But it's said all togeather, with a slight pause:

Kwahg Jahng Nim ge, kyung neh

4th: Sa Bum Nim ge

3rd: Pu Sa Bum Nim ge

2nd: Kyo Sa Nim ge

1st: Jo Kyo Nim ge

However, when we face the flags (U.S. first then KSW), they are objects not people, and are followed by "de".

Facing the National flag (and bowing): Kuk Ki de, kyung neh

This is exactly what we do, except we do bow to each BB rank at the beginning and end of all classes. We then bow to whomever is leading warm-up (no always a BB). After warmup, we bow to the BB leading the class.

Question- Do you bow from the kneeling or standing position, and do you bow to the flags for each class?

We do bow to the flags in each class.

In my Houston (KJN Harmon's) dojang, we all bow from kneeling position (unless physically unable to).

In my Mahopac, N.Y. dojang, we bowed from standing position.

Ok, thanks.

I was asking because we recently changed. We used to bow from the kneeling position, and bow to the flags and KSN (the picture) both before and after class. Now we bow from the standing position, and only bow to the BBs and whoever leads the class.
