Joecooke007 Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 I recently read an article in Martial Arts and Combat Sports about small circle Jiu Jitsu and I was wondering if anyone here practiced this art. If so What are its ups and downs? Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
Lars Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 I practice it sometimes. Our sensei went to a course in it some years ago. The ups: You don't use any strength when using small circle techniques. Your opponent has absolutely no strength if done correct. The downs: It only works if your opponent is using strength to let's say, grab your wrist. The circle must be perfect. Small circles are very fun to practice, but quite difficult. Lars Østergaard
Joecooke007 Posted March 10, 2002 Author Posted March 10, 2002 Cool. Thank you for the insight. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
Foreverlearning Posted April 3, 2002 Posted April 3, 2002 my Sensei teaches us Small Circle Jujitsu. It is a wonderful system to learn to make someone tap out with minimal force and to control somebody without hurting them too much. However in these fabled street fights that everyone seems to talk about, it would still work just on a much broader surface area of the body. Basically just imagine a Kimura lock with more wrist action that usual and you should get the idea
