Muaythaiboxer
i like capoeira, great fun but (where i train at lest) the capoeristas get destoryed by just about anyone in sparring. it's such a good work out though! i just cant bring myself to quit Fist visible Strike invisible
SevenStar
not where I am. they can hold their own. I've been kicked in the head by one of them - doesn't feel good. and they are very comfortable in the clinch.
battousai16
that's been my experience. the guys i train with are wicked fast and super accurate. i wish i didn't have to choose between capoeira and hwa rang do, they'd compliment eachother very nicely. is makulele like kali or more coreographed? Maddwraph
im not too sure what kali is, but makulele is like actualy capoiera when your in the roda doing it. your facing the other person doing the moves you want to, and at the same time keeping at the rythym of the instruments playing. only in makulele that my class does, we dont try to hit the person as opposed to the actual capoiera. Im brasilian, but live in the united states. Really enjoying martial arts.
iolair
AFAIK, combat Capoeira and the dance-fight-game Capoeira are not necessarily practiced in the same way, even though they are usually taught in the same club. Same moves, but different ways of doing them... Currently: Kickboxing and variants.Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing. SevenStar
that punk kicked me in the face again tonight, lol. they are good guys to play with. it depends on the style as well, from what I've seen, angola is ALOT more passive than regional, and the angola guys avoid contact more. battousai16
i'm doing omulu, myself, i'm not sure how that compares. i've had all of 4 hours under my belt so far though, so i'll hold judgement until later "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
