karatekid1975
Lately, it's been almost every class. It's getting kind of annoying, because I hate WTF rules. We usually gear up and use WTF rules with light to mid contact. But the higher ranks (me included) go all out somethimes Laurie F
Ben Martin
we never do full contact sparing though i wouldnt mind if we did some times but my class only has 6 students in and we are all different weight classes so it wouldnt be fair at all. we spar at the end of every lesson for about 20 mins. i only have one lesson a week as my sensei's other clases are on the other side of london. but i do go to the boxing gym where we traing on the bags and fight in the rings on sundays. Kieran-Lilith
We usually spar once a month, but we're sparring a lot more now because of Tournament coming up....I can't wait! 'course, it has to be the day before my birthday so I'm a bloody mess for my b-day, but oh well. 1kickKO
Just about all the time, we spar half of the time then do techniques and kata the other half.
tkdBill
We pretty much spar six days a week, usually during the last 20 min or so of each class. --

Sparkey
My school has a separate sparring class once a week for an hour where we have mouth guards, shin pads, hand pads, cups etc...and we do light to mid contact. We don't keep points or anything. During class we usually only do light contact tag, about every week or so. When we don't gear up, we only use backs of hands and bottoms of feet to specified targets--usually shoulders, knot on the obi, legs below the knees and the top of the head. During "tag" anything more than a touch is considered poor form. It's mostly practice targeting and getting out of the way. But it's all good fun. tkdrocks
I would also have to define full contact a little better. Us upper ranks to tend to throw harder at each other. With the lower ranks and it is only medium to light contact. Rules (Regular Days): Legal targets are above the waist (except for leg kicks). No strikes to the back either. Anywhere on the headgear is also fair game and encouraged. (We try to avoid the face). (Special Days): Almost anything goes. Elbows, knees, takedowns, 2 or 3 vs 1 sparring. We still try to avoid the face and back though. Thursday Nights are our fight night 60 minutes of continuous sparring. My very favorite night. 2nd Degree Black ITA Tae Kwon Do
