If I were to start a yahoo karateforumsfantasy league (with Patrick's permission to use the name, of course), would anybody be willing to join? krunchyfrogg Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 A real Yankee fan can tell you who played SS before Jeter came along. There are just way too many bandwagon jumpers. vertigo Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 A real Yankee fan can tell you who played SS before Jeter came along. who did play ss? i don't even remember!(which surprises me, cuz I usually have a decent baseball memory) but at least i have an excuse "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - T. Patrick Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 A real Yankee fan can tell you who played SS before Jeter came along. There are just way too many bandwagon jumpers. It's not that bad. Happens with all winners to some extent. Anyway, not neccessary. It is very easy to forget players, etc. Doesn't mean you aren't a Yankee fan. Especially when they are really, really nobodies. However, if I recall... I think Tony Fernandez played SS the year before Jeter (1995). We had some interesting guys in the infield before then... Spike Owen, Mike Gallego. Alvaro Espinoza (spelling his name wrong, I am sure) played for a while. There were other nobodies in there at all of the positions, for sure. krunchyfrogg Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 (edited) Ah, Patrick, a Yankee fan I can respect. You got it! Patrick Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 As I told you via private message, I would start it. But, that would only be if there was serious interest from participants. I have only seen you and me right now. Would anyone else be interested in playing fantasy baseball? Ideally I would like to have at least 8 and as many was 14ish. Please respond if you are. Thanks. isshinryu5toforever Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 I am a fan of perennail loser: Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs. The Twins are alright, if they're playing the Yankees then I'll definitely root for them. I tend to keep that to myself while I'm here though. He who knows others is wise. vertigo Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 I'd give fantasy baseball a shot. Sounds like a good idea. "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - T. S. Eliot
