Tokaido Gis

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm going to be competing internationally here in June, and I will be needing a very nice gi to go with me. I've heard a lot about tokaido gis, are there any other nice ones out there? Currently I have a heavyweight Tiger Claw Hayashi Gi. It is nice, but I would like a very very nice gi to take along with me on my trip. Any preferences for those of you out there who own nice gis? Oh, and I'm looking for white.

Tokaido (be SURE that you don't get that "Tokaido Arashi" -copycrap) is a great do-gi. Other great ones include Hirota and Shureido.

From cheaper and still good do-gi, Kamikaze and Arawaza are making great do-gi that look nice and last well.

Suggestion: Get 2 Kamikaze do-gi (Europa and America, Europa is a bit lighter and suits for kumite better, America - or Monarch - is great for kata) so you always have a clean spare do-gi. It won't cost much more than one of those high-end do-gi. However, if you want a really nice do-gi, you have no choice - Tokaido, Hirota or Shureido it is.

Satori gi's are nice too.
