Side, sweep, and roundhouse kicks

Recommended Posts

I seriously need help inregards to checking, parrying, and blocking there three maneuvers! I have tried everything I can think of. Two-handed checks, forearm checks, shin checks, but they all seem to fail. Any ideas anyone?

Fortunately for you, I brought an entire bucket of STFU!

Well the side kick is best just to side step. The sweep will only work if you are off balance or on one leg. If you can make sure you keep your balance...and never launch a kick that you havent set up. As for the round kick just placing your arms between yourself and the kicking leg should work.

For a roundhouse, it works if you just shift your weight back, push his leg around and hit him with a haito (ridge hand) or richen uchi (backfist strike) int he head. For a sweep...JUMP! For a side kick, his kick has to come back to him sometime doesn't it? As it is snapping back to him, follow it back and counter..touch-and-go.
