Sunrunner
"Warriorship" - What does it mean to you? Can it be a spiritual path equal to an organized religion? Do you think it can it be found in non-martial artists? How does one cultivate it? Practice it? How is it taught? How is it learned? How is it realized? Is it practical in today's societies? Do you feel it is neccessary or too idealistic in the "modern world"? Sunrunner"train until the art becomes an artless art, flowing from the unconscious." The Phenom
Warriorship means honour to me - at least that's what I see when I think of the term "warriorship", and in my opinion it's concepts should not be considered out of date at all. If anything, the modern world could do with more honour and warriorship. I don't like to associate warriorship with killing, I think there is more to being a Warrior than brutal war and violence, whether it is following a religion, upholding a way of life, or so. Warriorship is a big topic anyway, I can see lots of replies to this already.
David
Well Sunrunner, answer some/all of your own questions. I'm for anything (for anybody) that makes them more responsible but does not curtail they're ability to give and receive joy. Rgds, David PS I don't think it takes much to equal an "organised religion" lol. ** Censor-O-Meter: 9 **

ShotokanKid
I'd say it's Bushido "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."

AnonymousOne
In the strictest sense of the word, being a warrior is fighting in battles or I guess preparing for battles. The philosophy of warrior-ship various enormously depending what your bent it. Just about every country in all of history has had some kind of warrior code. Its interesting to study this, especially ancient Greeks, Romans, Phillistines, Israelites, Persians, Huns, Goths, Gauls, Celts and so on 7th Dan ChidokaiA true combat warrior has to be hard as nails in mind, body and soul. Warriors are action takers and not action fakers. If you are cruising, make time for losing
