Jazzstorm Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I can't believe the others listened to him! Kyo Sa Nim in KSWCertified Personal TrainerHealth and Business Consultant
Pacificshore Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Sounds a bit "old school", but usually not done by other students to set the other straight. Would have been done by the instructor himself. Nowadays that practice is outdated, and as everyone has said unacceptable. We learn from out experiences and how to better handle a similiar situation when it is now our turn to deal with questions from students. Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
krzychicano Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 God I get sick to my stomach everytime I see this post can't believe there are actually instructors out there like that. What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius
Kempohands Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 That is definitly not acceptable. That is totally unneccesary. That "lesson" could have been taught in better fashion. What disturbs me even more however, is the fact that the other students listened to the instructor when he told them to beat up this "unruly" student. My question is, what are his teaching methods like if his students listen to that instruction w/o any qualms about what they're doing? "To win a fight without fighting, that is the true goal of a martial artist." -Grandmaster Nick Cerio
pineapple Posted February 17, 2005 Author Posted February 17, 2005 I just wanted everyone to know that he also asked me to teach the guy a lesson but I refused to get involved. I quit training with this guy years ago. He had a habit of losing his temper in class and he even smoked in class while we trained. For those of you that are curious, he was my Kempo instructor. What works works
jedimc Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Too bad there are so many of these instructers, my friend was telling me at his old dojo that his instructer told the kids if they just did 100 sit ups they can have a brown belt , he left straight away. http://jedimc.tripod.com/ma.html - what MA do you do, this is my poll.
scottnshelly Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Sounds like this "Instructor" needs to be taught a lesson... Maybe everyone in the class should knock of his headgear and punch him.
delli04 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 What happened to the student after that? Did he comeback? What did he say afterwards?
pineapple Posted February 18, 2005 Author Posted February 18, 2005 I don't know what he said but he never came back to class! What works works
Davison Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Sounds like that instructor is a few frys short of a happy meal !!! A little coo coo for coco puffs if ya know what I mean. Why punch someone when their on the ground when you can just kick them
