don chi Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Does anybody here happen to remember this flick? I think it was the late 70's. The name James Ryan keeps coming to mind but I can't find anything on the net. If anybody knows how I can get it let me know. Thanx

steveb Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I remember seeing this movie a long time ago. I looked on IMDB.com and they have it listed as being released in 1980, starring James Ryan. The IMDB plot summary is: Two former ranking figures of the Axis powers schedule a deadly martial arts tournament in an isolated locale. The two rivals then race to assemble the top competitors from around the world, with Steve Chase being the most sought after fighter. Res firma, mitescere nescit
krzychicano Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 wow nice search. What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius
don chi Posted February 26, 2005 Author Posted February 26, 2005 Thanks for the effort guys, it's greatly appreciated. I'm going to check it out.
artusio Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 you can find reviews on rotten tomatoes or yahoo movies, for instance, anyway you'll find it to be very underestimated. In my opinion the best martial arts film ever shot ! The idea of a nazi general taking refuge in Namibia and puttin'up a karate olympia is a manifestation of pure nonsense genius (a very Avenger-like plot, if you see what I mean). Suondtrack is very good too ! ...he broke silence 'do you believe in spirits, ghosts, devils?''I firmly believe in whiskey, the ghost of a salary and a devil of a thin time. Seen'em myself' was the reply.
