Kreisi Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Just wanting to hear from your experiences in a match situation. I often get stuck with trying hip throws and my opponent trying to counter them. What do you think is the best throw in a match. I prefer Tomoenage. It is the throw that i've got most ippons. What hurts you but doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
SevenStar Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I won my first match in my first judo tourney with tomoe nage. I'd say the generally more effective throws are harai goshi and uchi mata - that's why so many people use them. Different body types work better with different throws though, so it will still vary. for example, you say you often throw o goshi... I NEVER throw it. IMO, o goshi is an extremely hard throw to set up in competition.
