traz Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I am moving to Kingston Ontario in the fall (because of University) and thus I will have to be looking for a new style/dojo to train in. I am currently doing Hapkido, but as far as I know there is no such school available in Kingston. So I have an open question to any of you who train in Kingston. Do you know of a solid dojo (in whatever style) in the area? Please try and keep all suggestions in the Kingston area. As a university student, I won't have the money or time to travel elsewhere to train. So if you kind fellows would, let me know of some good Kingston Dojo's, the style they teach, the general effectiveness of the instructors or the training methods...etc! I'm looking for any bit of information that will help me in my search for a kingston school. Thanks guys! traz Like a midget at a urinal, I'm always on my toes
ncole_91 Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 There is a Shotokan Karate Dojo there on the base, I will get some more information, I have a cousin that lives (and goes ot the dojo) there. I think it is a very good dojo, very traditional.
traz Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 Sounds cool. If you have any information on it, I'd love to have it Like a midget at a urinal, I'm always on my toes

BRG Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 A bit of a late reply (catching up on my KarateForums reading)... I've never been to these dojos, but I study Tsuruoka in Milton. The style is Shotokan-esque, and has a strong history in Ontario. See: http://home.interlog.com/~brat/tkf/dojos-on.htm#Kingston_TK for contact info. Shitoryu ItosukaiTsuruoka Karate
