I think IT can be done, but not against 20 attackers, although only a certain amount of them can attack you at the same time. A very skilled fighter fighting average Joes could prevail but it depends on the style. Grapplers couldn't do it. I think Kung Fu guys or very proficient Aikidokas would be the best in such circumstances.

I've gotta agree with Muaythaiboxer. Five people who are reasonable accustomed to violence (as many people who will deal out curb stompings are.) are extremely difficult to take down. Unless you are very light on your feet and quick with a blade, I'm betting that you're going to loose if you stick around to fight.

(heck, even running's tough, since you're running against the fastest of the group!!)

Let's also imagine that the odds of any given person carrying a knife are ten to one, the chances that none of them have a knife are only 60%. With 20 opponents, it's virtually certain that somebody is carrying.

Yikes. Multiple determined opponents with weapons are something that very few people could take on, and even then not all the time. There are lots of incidents where one person beats off 5 guys, but I bet I could choose a team of five people off the street who could beat even those very tough individuals.

Muaythaiboxer I dont have the full details of the 20 vs 1 fight. What I have been told is that it was on a ship. William was standing on one of the side walk-ways. It was really narrow and hence he could only be attacked by 1 or 2 guys from each side.

The 14 fight that my SiFu was involved in, was a running street fight. Ie. Smash one or two guys, retreat a bit, spliting them up, smash the next 2, repeat. This was no story of standing in the middle of 14 guys. He had to work to the blind side to ensure he could escape and to maximise his attacks on the thugs. Yes some of them were armed. The ensuing court case was thrown out as the judge couldn't believe that one guy took on 14.

Regardless of weither you or I believe these stories (I wasn't there so am only going on my SiFu's word) we should all know that with correct positioning, luck and good stand up skills, it is possible to take on multiple opponents. I have a few years to go to reach those skills.

Alot of feedback,

20 guys at once? I see that things have escalated. :D

OK to change it abit, what are your personal experiences with multiple enemies?

Personally I never get attacked much, hardly ever but when I do I often just use MA skills and rarely have to use my range of weapons that I carry with me all of the time.

2 Kunai

1 Tetsubishi

1 Nunchaku]

So, What are your personal experiences with multiple enemies?

That's just stupid, if you are telling the truth...

If you really carry those weapons... that's freaky and will get you in jail. Even if you use it in a selfdefence situation.

Well depends where he's from! I'd carry weapons if I lived in Afghanistan or Irak these days (as well as many other countries). :brow:

I only carry them when I am walking to and from the forest near my home, to train. Not when I am going to the supermarket!

"Uh sir! you dropped your sword."

You don't think security would mind a Ninja (Fully dressed with Gi and hood) with a sword on his back and knives in his pockets and a Tetsubishi rope slightly sticking out of his arm. Not carry EVERYWHERE, just most of the time I am training, I don't go to the shops much.

Most of my friends are Martial Artists so they train with me, I have no wish to go to nightclubs or anything.

No Alcohol

No Cigarettes

No Drugs (Except caffine in tea, coffee, coke cola.)

No murders, Except for Shinji, He is a dummy made of straw that I train with by hitting him with Bokken and Basically all of my weapons, he must have taken a beating over the years. He has a name as my Uncle says that it is better to train if he has a personality, more real.

No broken bones.

I am pure, like a monk. I think, I do not know how monks live.
