Myst Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 My dojang has puzzle mats but we never use them. We have blue gymnastics mats that we use. They're really good for doing over-the-shoulder throws and hip throws. You still get the breath knocked out of you (that's just a given), but they're pretty soft so you don't get too bruised up. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, 'It is well, it is well with my soul.'
1kickKO Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 I catch my toe on the interlocking mats all the time, I hate 'em.
tkdBill Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 There must be some different types of puzzle mats out there. I have trained on them for over two years, and have yet to have a problem with them. Before that I had trained on wood, carpet, and wrestling mats. I prefer the puzzle mats. The mats we use have a somewhat firm feel when you walk on them, but they are very forgiving when you fall.
1kickKO Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 You know what sucks? When your feet get cold during winter, you can't feel them, they don't respond, and ya make one wrong twist and ...pop!
krzychicano Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Dont you just love that? What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius
