Jazzstorm Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Hello, I was gone for awhile and noticed we have a few new faces. I just wanted to see how many people are practicing Kuk Sool. I started doing Kuk Sool alittle over a year ago. I am a blue belt with two stripes My Master is KJN Gary Evarts. https://www.kuksoolgreaterrochester.com Kyo Sa Nim in KSWCertified Personal TrainerHealth and Business Consultant
swooshfinn Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Well lets see..... Since my latest job (retail management) doesn't allow me to get into the studio very often, I would probably be closing in on my last few stripes as a brown-black belt. But I haven't been in the studio training for about a year and a half now..... so I am still at brown belt, which is probably where I am destined to stay. There is a studio downtown Milwaukee, I should try to check it out sometime in the very near future. Kuk Sool Won Jae JahJah Ddi (Brown Belt)
SBN Doug Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I've lost count how many years I've been in it. I think it's up to around 12. I was due to start testing for PSBN last summer, which was already 6 months behind when counting from my 1st degree (because we could only test in the summers up North when Kuk Sa Nim came around). I'm finally beginning my testing this month. I'm not totally sure that this is a good thing. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
krzychicano Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 KUK SOOL!!!! I have only been taking it for about 6 months and I am testing for my blue belt soon. I really enjoy Kuk Sool Won. I researched a bunch of schools around my area and I felt that my son and I would benefit the most from this. I travel quite a bit because of my job but when I make it back home I am constantly going to the dojang making up the classes and getting the new techniques and forms so I can stay current and practice when I'm away. Anyways welcome back and good luck on the training and good luck Doug on the testing. What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius

tap_ Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Hello to all my fellow ma's. This is my first post here, I just found the site through the thread ""Kuk Sool Korean Martial Arts" by Kimm, He-Young." I'll probably reply to that thread later. Its a fairly old thread, but I'm really interested in it. I've been practicing Kuk Sool for about 5 years now. I'm a Jo Gyo Nim practicing in the U.S. Hard to narrow down what I like about KS, but I'd probably say grappling or dynamic joint locking. How many KS people are there on this forum? Edit: apparently this doesn't let you use korean for your name, changes it into question marks. I'll have to change my handle. Though it means labor for the body, if the mind finds peace in it, do it. Though the profit may be small, if there is much rightness in it, do it.
