Oh man, I hope you are kidding.

But if you aren't....there's a reason that cards are not taught as a weapon at ma schools or self defense classes. Have you ever seen a cop or security cards walking around with decks of cards strapped to his belt?

Probably not.

If yo'ure planning on using these as self-defense weapons..umm..then no offense but you'll probably get killed. If you're looking into them as just somethin' fun to do for a fun lil' hobby? No advice..sorry, google it. ;)

Plus, it's considered poor poker etiquette to cause murder and mayem with the cards. :-)

Do a search on Ricky Jay, he's an incredible man, very nice man, and just happens to be the world record holder for throwing playing cards, something like almost half the length of a football field.

Or you can go to https://www.mcbridemagic.com order Art of Card Manipulation volume 3. An Expensive purchase but well worth the money if you plan on getting into that kind of stuff.

Any way here I am, wandering off talking about magic on a karate board. I'm done with that, Just wanted to drop a couple of resources for you.

Oh my baloney has a first name.

I am new to KarateForums, but frankly, i have been experimenting with the throwing of playing cards as weapons for a couple of years now. The most important thing and one of the main reasons why there aren't many people very good and deadly with them is that they have weak grip and weak wrists. I can leave welts on people at up to the better part of 20 yards, and when unobstructed, i can throw straight for almost 30 yards. Ray, the pioneer of card throwing techniques, trained himself for almost ten years and developed many styles. I can, if it is a straight and good throw, get my card to pierce drywall and gash hard wood. Now, tell me that human flesh is tougher than hardwood. I think I could effectively defend myself with cards.

Just a quick tip on throwing cards. Leave them in the package, still wrapped up...you can throw them quite a distance that way and the impact is greater.

ShogunMisha...you can "pierce drywall and gash hard wood"? I can see the drywall.d..maybe, but gash hardwood? Mmmm..I'd have to see that to believe it.

My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
