Son Goku the monkeyking Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 What is the differance between kungfu and gungfu besides the F and the G PEACE
Shorin Ryuu Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Nothing. Both are widespread but technically incorrect terms used to refer to Chinese martial arts. Not that any of that will ever change. The difference between the k and the g arises simply from different methods of romanizing Chinese. Both prominent methods are not 100 percent accurate, but that's just a fact of life... kzshin Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 samething, one is pronounced in Cantonese, one is pronounced in Maindarin Chinese.
ovine king Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 nope. they're both used for the cantonese. in reality, it sounds like a mix of the two, kinda like a sharper g sound or a softer k sound. it's like the g as in get but it comes from deeper in the throat. but yeah.... SR got it, it's just a different way of romanisation. earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers.
Mistassailant5 Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 no difference. Kung fu used to be a term used in China for someone who completed a great achievement and would be referred to as a kung fu man, gung fu or more traditionally wushu is what "kung fu" really is I am not a fighter, I am a guardian.
