Muaythaiboxer Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 99.9% of martial art videos are useless, the only way to get good training is to go to a good school, books however are a diffrent story there are some very enlightening books out there. Fist visible Strike invisible
1kickKO Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 Yeah but videos are more "dimentional" for lack of a better word than books are...but I'd prefer an instructor over anything out there. These kind of people need to get a true grasp on reality.
battousai16 Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 "99.9% of martial art videos are useless" actually, i think they can be excellent... when accompanied by an instructor. i have the figure 4 joint lock down because it was taught to me, and i happened to have a video and could remember it that much better and practice it that much more. Muaythaiboxer Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 thats why i added the 1%. i like books they let me train when i am to tired to train any more. im not talking the teakwondo learn at home typpe books, im talking the classics like the art of war, a book of five rings, hagakuri, tao te ching, i-ching, the really old ones although these new books i have found to be good. secrits of championship karate, tao of jeet kune do, Fist visible Strike invisible
battousai16 Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 actually, i quoted your movie comment. to which i was pointing out that a lot of them, as in more than 1% are great if you use them in addition to your training.
