I'm currently working on planning my first tournament, and i would appreciate if somebody could warn me of the does and dont's. What should i be aware off, what will go wrong if i don't look out for it.

It is scheduled for August, as an open knockout-tournament.

The more i learn, the more i see that i am ignorant.

we've done two tournaments and they are a royal pain in the rear!

Is it single or double elimination? Have you figured out what divisions you are going to have? Is it just sparring or is breaking or forms going to be aprt of it? How many people do you expect?

Make sure you have adequate liability insurance that specifically covers tournaments. I don't know how the law works in your country, but in the U.S., if someone gets seriously hurt they can and will sue you in spite of any "hold harmless" agreements they sign.
