SaiFightsMS Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Many dojo's use simple I pattern katas like that to help beginning students learn and practice stances, moving, and punching. They can be done in zenkutsu dachi, neko ashi dachi, kokutsu dachi, and utililize any block or combination of blocks.

They are just to use and get used to different blocking, striking techniques, moving, like what you said. It is a pretty good idea I think and thanks for everyone’s help.
