kzshin Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Yeah, I think he did exist. Cuz there are many old chinese text and stories writing about him.
yireses Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 If I am not wrong there is more proof on Jesus then Bodhidharma The knowing of Violence and living in no violence brings peace.Shaolin Chuan Fa
isshinryu5toforever Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 There is some evidence that a man like Bodhidharma existed, however whether that was his name or not is up to debate. It would seem a lot of the stories about him are legend. He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened.- Tao Te Ching"Move as swift as a wind, stay as silent as forest, attack as fierce as fire, undefeatable defense like a mountain."- Sun Tzu, the Art of War
VinnieDaChin Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 i dont think there is any way to know if bodhidarma existed or not. records werent kept so well back then. as for jesus- roman documents have shown that a man named jesus did exist and did cause some problems in the area the bible says he was. whether or not the legends and stories about either are in any way true, no way to know for sure.
Emei89 Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Let this blow your mind (as we are talking about the Bodhidarma and jesus) -- There is significant evidence that says that in the time period left out in the bible, Jesus studied in India. They have similiar healing techniques in Budhist monasteries to those described about Jesus' although there isn't that much detail about his procedure in the bible since it is referred as the power of god.
