aefibird Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 If London win the bid for the 2012 Games then I'll be going...to watch. That's about as close as I'll ever get to going to the Olympics, unless I suddenly take up an obscure or lesser sport to bet entered as a competitior... My closest 'claim to fame' is that I have a friend who has been selected for the British Bobsleigh Team for the next Winter Olympics. GO MARK! "Was it really worth it? The Saint Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 As a trdition TKD fighter, I would never compete in Olympic TKD. I love to use my hands and would not give that up for any kind of medal. The practicallity behind Olympic TKD does not appeal to me at all. If they changed the rules and allowed punches to the face, I'd love to compete, but it isn't so . Goju 4 Life Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I went to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. I only saw the track and Field though If i had to choose between karate and everything else, I would choose karate so i could beat up whoever made me make the decision and have everything else
senna_trem Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 It's too bad Vancouver got the winter olympics and not somehow the summer ones. Then I'd go see all the judo and TKD competitions. It would be sweet. "I think therefore I am" Rene Descartes
yamesu Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 i went to the semi-finals for the boxing at the sydney2000 olympics, 5th row seats, hehehe. there was blood......wasnt really expecting that. i wouldnt compete in the olympics, even if they held karate. Kreisi Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 i think i can't go and see any judo competitons i mean olympics. because olympics were in finland last time 1952, and i think olympics wount come to finland for a long time What hurts you but doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
ShotokanKid Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Never been in or even watched the Olympics "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."
cathal Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Isn't Karate being considered for status as an olympic sport now? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
CrippledFingers Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 2012 it's gonna be in the Olypics... Hopefully I'll be there to represent Canada Kanpai!
