Just was wondering if anyone knew anything about Zui Ba Xian Quan or other Drunken styles, and possibly had any good websites/books, etc. to take a look at. Thanks!

I know a bit.

Most drunken fighting is a single set within a particular school, like Drunken Mantis etc;.

Theres a school that teaches an Lau Family Eight Immortals style, see their page at https://www.joybotsin.com

I think CLF has a drunken form as well.

There are several schools in China which can teach you a drunken set, the more popular sets being drunken straight sword, drunken staff, and drunken fist. Of course there is also Drunken 5 animals, drunken monkey, drunken tiger, drunken snake, etc;, and some more exotic weapon sets like drunken spear and whip. Most of them are very rare and the performance of the sets is very intense.

Oh, and you fall alot. In almost every drunken set I've seen, you fall from a normal position. There are also two main movements in drunken sets, asking for more wine and taking a drink.

hmm... the origianl Drunken fist is Zui Ba Xian Quan. Zui Ba Xian is a famous martial artist, (I think he is taoist, but correct my if I am wrong). Anyway, he drinks alot in the legend, that's why he developed the drunken fist. However, I heard the real Drunken fist is already lost, so I don't think anyone is able to teach you this thing, maybe except Jackit Chan, but I doubt he learned the real one.

Besides drunken fist from Zui Ba Xian, I dunno where did those came from, but I can assure you that most chinese never heard of drunken styles other from Zui Ba Xian, and I am sure most people never heard of drunken styles mix with animals or weapons.

Yes, drunken weapons and animals certainly do exist. I know of two very popular sets, Drunken Straightsword and Drunken Staff. I'm sure there is one for the Dao as well. And Zui Quan is widely accepted as the popular contemporary drunken fist set.

has any one seen drunken animal??? I only seen my nieighbor's dog got drunk once. Never seen tigers, or Crane or mantis got drunk. Drunken monkey might be easier to see.

I wonder who will look at drunken animal and learn their movement to create drunken animal styles.

maybe the same guy creat Frog style.

actually, and i could be wrong, i'm just guessing, but i thought the dao was used because it was easier to mass produce and to master? i mean, if half the idea behind the dao was that it didn't take the skill and thought to use as the (jian? is that "straight sword"? i guess it dosen't much matter, what with that etymology topic that's about somewhere...), would someone really take the effort, time, and thought to creat a drunken form? i mean, i really have no idea, but if someone walked up to me and asked if there was a drunken dao form, i'd say i didn't think so. y'all can feel free to correct me.
