tufrthanu Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Well at the school I went to they only had 6 belts: White Green Blue Red Brown Black Dan ranks are for black and above. Below that they are called Gups. I only took it for several months but I was promoted to white/green stripe. Long Live the Fighters!

ramonnavarro123 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Hi and be blessed tufrthanuI do Song Moo Kwan HapKiDo, why ?HAP Ramon Navarro4th DanHapKiDo SabomNimSong Moo Kwan HapKiDoPanama Republic of Panama
tufrthanu Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Because Song Moo Kwan was one of the 5 original Taekwondo schools in korea and I just wondered since you gave that as the name. I currently do Song Moo Kwan TKD...the traditional stuff...its nice. Long Live the Fighters!
lapulid2 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 there are fourteen belts in my school. too many colors to name, and about four stripes per belt. progression is relatively quick through the belts and if your thinking about saying that its for the money...all belts are free and there are no testing fees. <-----------the art of people folding!
ramonnavarro123 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Hi and be blessed tufrthanuYou are right about your TaeKwonDo explanation and it is correct about TKD thought in HapKiDo for Song Moo Kwan hapKiDo is that it is based in the natural of the style for the person to use its nature as a human being as nature is, its grouth becomes movile and even with the changes it goes beyond the need for one to defend against an attack that the person as a martial artist and that the person style according to Song Moo HapKiDo is to be able to change in accordance to de situation even it not mattering what is the matter of the situation and the person applying Song Moo HapKiDo then can take advantage of the situation and the changes that accur wich are basically the disturbance of peace. This is by applying the 3 HapKiDo principles that are yu, won and hwa or flow, circle and harmony !There for our Style school is Song Moo Kwan HapKiDo and it means : The Green and Alive School of HapKiDo Martial Art or The Natural Martial Art of HapKiDo.HAP Ramon Navarro4th DanHapKiDo SabomNimSong Moo Kwan HapKiDoPanama Republic of Panama
