If you can, please help out with donations or aid to the many countries devestated by the Tsunami in Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand.

If you feel the need to donate please visit the following web sites:

http://www.emergencydonations.gov.lk/

https://secure.unicef.ca/forms/emergency_page.html

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2004/12/28/canadian-tsunami-aid041228.html

I am not asking you to donate to these particular causes, find a charity that will help to rebuild these countries.

We all love our freedom and way of life, so please help those people that have been devestated by this Tsunami. :bawling:

One last thought, what would you do if you lost everything, including your home & loved ones ?

Such a terrible tragedy. I'll definetely be donating.

If all 4379 members of KarateForums.com were to donate just a little bit of cash, that'd make a difference. Every little bit counts.

Each year my wife and make a budget for donations to several charities. Yesterday we sent all we had in the 2005 budget to Catholic Charities for disaster relief for the victims of the tsunami.

To donate in the UK:

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is an umbrella group of UK charities including, among others, British Red Cross, Cafod, Oxfam, Save the Children, Tearfund

Call them on 0870 60 60 900 or donate online at https://www.dec.org.uk

By the end of the week people should be able to donate cash or cheques - made payable to the DEC Tsunami Earthquake Appeal - at High Street banks.

Cash or cheques (made payable to Post Office Ltd) can be donated over the counter at Post Office branches.

Other bodies raising money include the Muslim groups Muslim Aid (020 7377 4200) and Islamic Relief (0121 622 0622) and the Hindu charities Sewa International 0116 261 0303 and the ISKCON Disaster Appeal on 01923 856848.

Sri Lankan organisations including Asia Quake Relief Appeal UK (asia-quakerelief@europe.com) are also raising money

Please give all you can. This is a global disaster affecting people from all over the world.

For those outside the UK, one option is the AikiWeb appeal, donating to the American Red Cross:

Please help if you can.

My wife and I are donating to a couple of charities. We looked for nonpolitical organizations that used less than 2% for admin. One of these is Doctors Without Borders, and we chose them because of their honesty and dedication. They said they had adequate funds, for the time being, to deal with the Tsunami relief effort. But whenever something of this magnitude happens, donations to other relief efforts fall way off. We are sending one donation to help in these other efforts, in addition to a donation to help the efforts in the tsunami disaster.

On a related theme, here's a website that is looking to Make Poverty History in 2005.

It's a British-based site, but part of a world-wide campaign to eradicate poverty and death from preventable diseases.

Please visit. Thank you.

All our prayers go out to the people who are suffering over this tragedy and we will be donating also. A truly sad experience but I love the way the world has come together over this.
