styles/types of TKD

Recommended Posts

Maybe someone could help me out with this. I haven't had time to talk with my instructor about it. We call our forms Kiban 1-5, and I've learned Pyong-an Cho-dan through Oh-dan. Which set mentioned do these fit into? My school is very self-defense oriented, with almost no tournament basis. I'm not sure of affiliation either- it really wasn't a factor in my choice.

Maybe your TKD is an offshoot of the Moo Duk Kwan, since half of it defected to the Taekwondo movement in the late 1950s. MDK TKD and MDK TSD/SBD all do Pyung Ahns.
