The problem with the young ones in the arts today..is that noone thinks they need to respect anyone but themselvs.

Until the arts are respect again like they once were....arrogance will rule supreme.

Until age..years..and the blood sweat and tears are recognized as having been there...studied more..and been in situations that those who don't have that experience have not been in..than respect for the elders of the arts are dead.

All people know what they know... but one thing the those who do have the years were tuahgt..that obviously is not being taught in these overly friendly school today..is respect..but that is what happens when you take the discipline out.

I respect all the artists on these boards..but their are those who will never be humble enough to respect those older both in age..and the arts....so you have your laugh.to those who have been in the arts for years..and who have given up evrything to learn them..it isn't a funny matter.

People are leaving the arts because of such attitudes..and those who just want the sport..wii never truly be martial artsts..but martial players.

please under that this is not thrown at anyone in particular..it is just an obeservation...all arts are and should be respected...but I can see that a few here will never understand that.

Angus, you are a good person, and one who wants to learn..I wish you all the best on your journey.

I am not going to post for a while...but I will be around.

Peace,

Tae

Thanx Tae,

Just one problem with me though is i have respect in teh classroom and to people i meet, it's just that i'm arrogant and i know it.

I should start my own art called egojutsu or something. I don't care, i'm young and stupid - but i guess i'l get the crap beaten outta me one day and i'l realise what the go is. All i can say is bring it on! NO PHEAR!!!

Ok, this has gone way off of topic now and in the complete wrong direction.

So, I am closing this, if anyone thinks it should be reopened... PM me. Thanks.

When I first started Kobudo, I felt that way too - I was nervous at first, but when I started training it was definately one of the best decisions in my martial arts life.

Angus - do u have an official kobudo teacher with a kobudo rank, or just a black belt teaching. Just wondering....as my senior is someone who is self-taught (but he doesn't teach) , whilst my grader is a 7th Dan in Kobudo

Another one has been bitten by the Kobudo bug.

I must admit that I was a bit bewildered at first. But now I'm kinda gettin' to grasps with one or two things.

Then again I do have an excellent instructor

See you in the Dojo

There is a martial arts place that my friend just started teaching Muay Thai at. They teach Kobudo. It is extremely similar to the philipinno techniques with weapons, they just put it in Kata form and are very rigid with it. Oh well, some people like the boot-camp type of feel.
