Has any one ever heard of a weeping blade???

Apparently they have a poison built into the blade that makes whatever the blade cuts poisioned???

A quick google search got me a bunch of game rules about weeping blades..

Weeping Blades: Causes 1 extra wound in the same way as blade venom (this bonus may not be removed by means of a "Remove Venom" spell from the Light College), ignores 1 point of enemy toughness when rolling DD, causes damage as sword (critic 12, fumble 1)

Poisoned blades were used in history but not often, doubt they ever got named "weeping blades".

I was told the following by someone a while back.

The Vikings made a sword that had microscopic projections along the edge of the sword. These projections would break of and be left behind in the wound. These projections being rusty would cause tetanus. I don’t know if this is the weeping blade that you are talking about, but it does sound awful.

A minute of experience on the street is worth a year of training in the dojo.

Yeh i dunno, 4 some reason i have always thought they were called that? I forget who told me. I would imagin that it is similar to a poisioned taurning axe but a sword.

How would the Vikings know about these projections if they were microscopic? They didn't have microscopes. Not doubting that a piece of a sword that happened to break off in a wound would cause infection, just doubting that they would have designed it that way since they didn't even know what caused infection at that time in history. Seems like an exaggerated story, imho.

The vikings probably said to themselves

"This sword makes more people die than usual, let's make more swords like it."

Then, hundreds of years later we come along and examine the sword and say to ourselves

"Wow, nice sword, let's look at it with a microscope and then put it on the Antiques Roadshow and claim it was made by the Vikings."

It doesn't take much thinking to figure out how that would work if you think for a moment. But, he could be lying, so for good measure let's torture him to see if he was telling the truth.
