CSAForeverLives Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Hey y'all im just getting started in martial arts and one of the main things I'm interested in is weapons. So my question is which of these 4 styles should i study if i want to be able to use weapons and have alot of striking with possibly some grappling. 1. Aikido 2. Hapkido 3. Ninjitsu 4. Krav Maga
scottnshelly Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Are these the arts that are available to you in your area, or just words that you've heard before? if the former, you should attend a class and speak with the Instructor if the latter, find out what's available in the area then attend a class and speak with the Instructor.

Find out what you have in your area and if at all possible find maybe a Kuk Sool Won or Okinawan kobudo school. Most chinese arts are also heavy in weapons training. tommarker Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Of the 4 you listed, Ninjutsu will probably have the most weapons. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
street fighter Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 What kinda weapons you looking for, traditional or something more useable in todays society. Some of the indonesion systems employ weapons, hand to hand standing and grappling and transfer quiet readily to the real world but, as i said what are you looking for, it might be a problem boarding a bus with your kwan doa,(if i spelled that right) but traditional training has its merits as well its all in what you fall in love with, for me street survival is the way but with out the traditional folks my world would be smaller and my techniques less.
