cymry
The last one wasn't grouped very well. Personally I would throw a palm heel to the chin/jaw, or a knife hand to the neck.
Rich67
The nose. A solid strike to the nose causes watering of the eyes, bleeding and discomfort. That usually takes the fight out of people, especially if the nose goes crack. If it doesn't stop them, it gives you some time to regroup or follow up and drop em. delta1
"Chin/jaw" Since I have to pick only one. For a preemptive strike, probably an upward elbow to the chin. Devastating strike, and it gets me in close enough to control his base, occupy his space and take his ballance. It also sets me up for quick follow up strikes and takedowns, if they are still necessary after that initial strike. Freedom isn't free!
KnifeHand
I say whatever is open, but I personally like the nose or the knees. If I am attacked (I never really have been) I would want to surprise my attacker by actually getting in close to him/her and landing high-percentage shots, like elbows or scraping his knees and shins. Then I would prefer to get the heck out of there, sprinting for safety. "Please do not drop your partner like a sack of potatoes. Ted T.
Chin jab or edge of hand to the side of the neck - the throat is good but deadly and I don't expect to have to kill anyone soon. Ted TruscottThe Raising Canes Club
Nick_UKWC
You want to 'chin jab' to the side of the neck as your opening shot? Interesting... I'd say palm heel to the nose myself. cymry
I think Tim T meant a chin jab as in a palm heel under the chin; or a knife hand the to side of the neck. Two different techniques.
STR33T GUY
I voted for other (head). I believe the adage that you fight as you train. When I train I hit head size targets, focus pads, double end balls etc. Also I read that when your heart rate goes above 120 beats per minute you lose fine motor skills and are only left with gross motor skills. So the head is about the smallest thing that you can target reliably in a fight. A minute of experience on the street is worth a year of training in the dojo.If you can’t sprawl and brawl, you can’t street fight.
kimura_guy
If it was me, I'd attack the knees for two reasons. If its an untrained assailant, then they are probably gonna be watching your upper body more closely than your lower body, so its possible that you could sneak in a devastating and nonlethal shot to the side of the knee. The second reason is that if you take out the knee, it wont be easy for them to follow you when you run, and a shot to the knee hurts ( speaking from experience). Just my 2 cents. KG It's better to be judged by 12, than carried by 6.
