Order of forms

Recommended Posts

Hey.... In tkd, what is the order of forms once you reach first dan? I googled it, and it said Basai was the first dan form, but I learned it as a red belt... My first dan form was Koryo. Then 2nd dan was Kuemgang, so I guess my new form is Taebaek... Does it just depend on the school or what?

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, 'It is well, it is well with my soul.'

I guess it depends on the school. Our school won't teach Koryo or Keumgang or any other black belt forms until we are black belts.

I think the order goes like this --

1st dan - Basai, Koryo

2nd dan - Geumgang and Taeguk

3rd dan - Taebeck

4th dan - Pyongwon

5th dan - Sipjin

6th dan - Jitae

Hope this helps!
