I am a begining jiu jitsu student. I was wondering what would be the best book(s), to purchase to "supplement" my training at home. Im not only interested in technique books, but books on history also. I wanna learn everything I can about jiu jitsu. Thanks in advance for the help.

Amazon.com has many. The best I have seen were the ones written by the Gracies and Kid Peligro. Good illustrations and detailed info.

Well if you are interest in sport ju jitsu there are tons of books at the store. If you are interested in the self defense kind however there is a really good book by Prof. Wally Jay entitled Small-Circle Ju Jitsu.

Yeah.....Ill hafta second the motion.....Professor Wally Jay's book on small circle Jujitsu is fantastic, and if you ever have a chance to go to one of his seminars....do so....he is amazing.....Ive trained with him almost every year when hes in my area for the last 10-12 years.....he is really incredible, and his system is amazingly effective

To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.

Black belt sells Ohara books almost exclusively I beleive which is the publisher for that Wally Jay book I mentioned earlier Jeet. If it's the same small-circle JJ book its very good. It's the one with the red cover.
