Angus Posted January 14, 2002 Posted January 14, 2002 Last week 34 year old kickboxing champion Ross Kimble was stabbed to death on the main street of Albury NSW Australia. Dean Street, which has now been dubbed 'Mean Street' (since a woman was also bashed there a couple of days after) has been the scene of some ugly times in the last few years, but Ross's death is the worst to date. Ross, a father of two, was defending the honour of his gorgeous wife when a knife was pulled on him and he was stabbed in front of a night club in the early hours of the morning. Obviously his wife witnessed the entire event as Ross burst into a fury against multiple attackers and was murdered on the street by a cowardly ****ing piece of ****. Although tragic and unjustified, Ross's death was honourable and i thought it only right to dedicate a thread to his memory. I had never met the bloke but as a martial artist and a moral being i feel deeply for his family. They have lost a husband and a father. Rest in peace buddy. Angus Argyle. Piastre Posted January 14, 2002 Posted January 14, 2002 A sad aspect of human nature seems to be that no matter what you do, how you act, how you prepare yourself, there always seems to be some loathesome piece of filth willing to snuff out a life in the most cowardly way. And of course, there's never a thought for the consequences and the ruined lives. But at least his mates probably think he's tough.
iamrushman Posted January 15, 2002 Posted January 15, 2002 always sorry to hear of another's loss of life over something like that...... the taking of a life does no one honor......a waste of a precious life.......... rushman (karate forums sensei)3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon"saying nothing...sometimes says the most"--e. dickerson
Patrick Posted January 15, 2002 Posted January 15, 2002 Well, thats too bad. I am sympathetic for his wife and children. You could please elaborate on "defending his wife's honor"? Does that mean he fought instead of kept walking? Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? Slider Posted January 15, 2002 Posted January 15, 2002 Thats pretty unfortunate. I sincerly hope that they prosecute all that are responsible. What a truley wasteful loss of life. I to this day fail to understand how people could be so cruel and evil knowing that this man had a wife, and most likely a family that Hasta!! Angus Posted January 15, 2002 Author Posted January 15, 2002 Apparently his wife was being groped and things like "how about a real root" were being said to her. Perhaps he could have walked away, but that's not how we're brought up down here. Wussing out of things isn't in our decree. Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
Slider Posted January 15, 2002 Posted January 15, 2002 Well, if the option to walk away without having to fight was present..ALWAYS take it no matter what. You may feel like "Wussing out" sucks...but then again, being DEAD sux too. Just a thought. Hasta!! Slider 2nd degree black belt Kenpo Karate Check out "Koldsteel" Enterprises. SaiFightsMS Posted January 15, 2002 Posted January 15, 2002 There is just too much evil in the world. It is allways so sad when death robs life prematurely.
Angus Posted January 15, 2002 Author Posted January 15, 2002 I don't expect people outside of my circles to understand - it's just a culture clash. But wussing out is as good as being dead. Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
Slider Posted January 15, 2002 Posted January 15, 2002 No offense was intended, but thats just commen sense...no matter where you are from.
