For the bunch of you that get thrown about and stuff...

Recommended Posts

alright, my nak bop sucks. when i get thrown around, i land in the position ok, but i guess i "think heavy". when i land, my instructor says i land "as if he were throwing a wet dog", and he advised me to relax. now, i'm sure this is probably just a lack of experience with being thrown in the air and such, but i have a bit of trouble doing that... particularly when i'm upside down in the air rushing towards the ground.... ahem, anyway. is there anything y'all think about to "think light" and stay relaxed? or is this something that time and practice will just work out?

I have trouble with my nakbup as well...my problems had more to do with not being in a ball or some crap like that...its probably best if you do as little thinking as possible while being thrown...that way your body will naturally flow into the right position.

ah, i suppose i should have gathered that there wouldn't be a "get it now" scheme. thanks for the help, y'all.

I have problems too because I have a bad shoulder - I am always conscious of getting thrown on it!

And here is the other thing - I trust higher grades more than lower grades - even though the higher grades know more "dangerous" throws. It is because of the technique I guess...

Yeah plus there is some expectation that they can vary the force of the throw...or stop their movement totally if you should happen to start to move the wrong way.

it's a korean term for "falling techniques". bassically you land from throws in positions where you wont break anything, or so that you can roll up from it. it dosen't prevent all injury, but enough so that you can get up and walk away instead of going to the ER.
