Being almost 40, my competition is limited to once or twice a year, but I still enjoy it tremendously. My serious competition days were back in the late '70s and early '80s. The days of Howard Jackson, Bill Wallace, Nasty Anderson, Billy Blanks and Ray McCallum. Back then, the CKC circuit was very active here in Calif.

 

Tournaments and competitors have changed quite a bit, but I still manage to have a little fun when I do compete.

hello, i am looking it to going into competitions and really really nervous about it, last time i competed was when i was 8, now 21 there is a lot of time and changes happened, any useful word of advise at all.

I compete in NASKA and Karate World Tournaments.... more so NASKA...

 

I have been to about 3 - 4 this year...but I'll be focusing on pushing teaching and working half and half now...

 

so ill hit the circuits more...i rock the circuits pretty well...depends on the atmosphere...

 

but...up here... some masters dislike mine, so they grade me low... :(

 

...its ok...ill deal w/ it...

 

I'll start a Thread w/ What Judges look for and tips for comeptitors....

The UKA and MMA (local STL circuits) are starting this month --- now that I am dancing and doing other things...dont know how much I can do

 

I will DEF be at the BlueGrass though...and I want to hit more on the NASKA circut

I compete in judo, full contact kickboxing/muay thai, will be competing in shuai chiao, bjj and mma soon.

I compete under IKO, for Kyokushin. Just started, and I'm loooving it! I'll be at Nationals in Vancouver on May 8th.
