gheinisch Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 The only thing I can think of is if your in "Outline View" you should have a outline toolbar. From the tool bar you can lock and unlock your document. I believe that may only be if you have a sub-document however. Just my thoughts, any others? In need of some Word experts out there. gheinisch Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 OK, I just thought of another. If you go to the forms toolbar you can lock and unlock your Doc. to prevent it from being change in any way. Go to view, toolbars, and forms to get the toolbar up. if the lock is down then click on it to release it. That's all I can come up with. Hope one of them works! Good Luck! gheinisch Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Bottom left of your document you'll see some small boxes that look like pages. Put your cursor over them and it will tell you what view each is. Sorry I can't be more help. Maybe someone else here will have the answer for you. TheDevilAside Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 If I were you, I'd just download a program called Open Office. It's "open source" (part of the whole 'Linux revolution'), free, compatiable with Windows, and is just as good, if not better, than Microsoft Office. Also, I'm pretty sure it's cross-compatiable with Microsoft Word, so you shouldn't have problems with transfering the text files between the two programs.
