I did many years ago. It is a Japanese comic. They did mention that Fist of North Star is an art of Chinese Origin.

The Japanese call it "Hokutonoken". In the cartoon, there are two fighting styles:

nanto = slicing techinques

hokuto = pressure point techniques

For example, Kenshiro's style is "Hokuto Shin Ken Den Sho Sha" and Rei's style "Nanto Suichiyo Ken".

Well which do you think is the best nanto or hokuto, and don't just say hokuto because it is the style that ken does.

2. also which do you think is the most affective between the two.

3. are the two styles even real martial arts style's.

There is also a movie called fist of the north star. Gary Daniels is the star of the movie. It has some good fight scenes that were pretty cool. It is set in post apocalyptic times. If anyone has not seen it , you should check it out.

Why punch someone when their on the ground when you can just kick them

Yeah I saw the live action film version of Fist of the North Star, it was very B-ish but quite entertaining, some parts funny but pretty good fight scenes. I highly recommend the animated movie or series also even if you are not a fan of animation or anime.

I think you only seen few epsoide, in first season.

There were 3 seasons, and there are alot more fighting styles than Nanto and Hokuto, which appeared in later season. There were also a sub-hokuto styles that didnt' appear till mid 2nd season.

This one of my favor animation. The drawing on 2nd and 3dr/final season are really good compare to the first one.

I am going to get all three season series next time I go to Taiwan.

oh and alos. Nanto doesn't mean slice techniques, it acutally is techniques that destroy from the surface. Where Hukuto is destroy from the internal.

In the later seasons, there will be another art is destroy from cell.
