Kill Bill960 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 The Action Genre has and always will be big in hollywood. There are over 400 action movies ever made. Share your thoughts on the action movies you enjoy and give your oppinion on well made action sequences and good action Actors / Actresses. My self i liked Jennifer Garners work in daredevil good. Although The use of the Sai could have been improved on. I hope She does better in the spin-off ELEKTRA. As you could tell be my username i love Kill Bill. I belive that the final action sequence with the Crazy 88 would have to be in the top 5. Sauzin Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 <-- not a huge fan of actresses or actors playing martial artists in movies. They would do better to teach a real martial artist to act. The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it.
Ted T. Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I think Kill Bill 2 was the better movie. Sure it was more talky / less comic book, but the development of the will and the perseverance of the Bride is an awesome story. She went from fighting machine in 1 to a real martial artist in 2. Kill Bill960 Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 Yeh i can agree with you partially. I think 1st and 2nd were both great but in the first i just loved the idea of a Blonde Caucasin woman living though being shot in the head. Also can mutate and gut any person who attacks her with a hanzo samurai sword. With no super human powers. I love the fact that she's mortal but immortal. Ya diggn' In the second they lose that in a way. When I Am Done Sheding My TearsI Will Start To Shed The Blood Of My Enemies And Punish All Who Did Me Wrong.
jedimc Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I found kill bill 1 very boring, all my friends loved it but i just dont see why it is so special one minute shes trying to wiggle a toe and the next the screens gone black and white and she's killing a millions guys. http://jedimc.tripod.com/ma.html - what MA do you do, this is my poll.
Ted T. Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Yes, the point of 2 is the details from the "toe wiggle" to the kill shot, the perseverence, the mind strengthening, the growthof committment. Ted TruscottThe Raising Canes Club
battousai16 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 i truly hope that one day, it'll dawn on people that it's one movie... "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
Kill Bill960 Posted December 5, 2004 Author Posted December 5, 2004 What do you think of the up coming movie ELEKTRA. The Trailer is good but im just a bit worried about how all the chrecters have some Mistical power. Eg a girls kiss will temporelily parilize you. (Sorry 4 the spelling) I mean what the hell is that??? Any way i love Jennifer and im looking forward to it. It's apparently inspired by the fantasy Japanese fighting films Eg: Hero, Crouching tiger, Etc. So it could get a litttle bit far fetched. Little Dragon Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 If you think about it..jackie chan is the only real deal martial arts superstar. These days other martial artists use to much computer graphics or strings and movies like daredevil, matrix, etc use actors/actreses to do the fighting rather than real MAists ''I know what your thinking.........did I shoot you 3 times? or did I shoot you 472 times?''
HumanTyphoon Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I agree Little Dragon, that's what makes most MA action films less fun to watch, for me at least. If you take a crooked path and have to go through a cliff. Either hope there is a bridge, or learn to fly.
