Generally, a persons fighting stance has them one shoulder forewards. Stare at that one shoulder when you are on the defence. You will find that it helps a bunch, seeing any muscle quiver to start a punch. But srate at their eyes when you are on the offense. Usually, people look downwards if they're going to punch the stomach area. Just keep total eye contact with the person.

thank you for your replies, I came first in sparring(white to blue belt catergorie), im not sure what I Came in kata because I didnt stay for the award ceremoney thingy and I did one step sparring, it was a great day thankyou all for your tips. :)
