Kill Bill960 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 I am going to purchese a pair of shureido sais at the end of the year and i was hoping to get a pattern or maybe a chinese dragon engraved onto the shaft to make them more unique. I am not sure whether the average engraver or jewellery store could do that for me. Shuriedo sais r a lot a money and i don't want to rewen them. what r your thoughts. Shorin Ryuu Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 My thoughts are this: If you want to get a sai that you can use and train with, go with Shureido. If you want one that looks cool, don't worry about engraving a Shureido sai. Save your money and buy some poor quality, but "cool-looking" sai... I still say a simple, unadorned weapon used with skill and precision looks far more "cool" than a gaudy showpiece. Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
username4 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 i agree with shorin i hate to use flashy weapon becuase they make me feel as if i need something else to be good.
Sauzin Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 You might be able to engrave a Shureido natural sai. Engraving the Shureido chrome sia's would not work. The chrome eventually wears off and engraving would just make this happen faster. Still the engraving would not be easy to see on a natural sai and really in the end accomplish very little. The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it.
