I've found that in competition, it's rather hard to pull off - almost impossible - unless you do it in an unorthodox manner, such as angling across them and attacking the opposite leg, as opposed to the normal straight forward variation. judoguy Posted December 4, 2004 Share Posted December 4, 2004 If you really think about it most throws have to be done in a somewhat unorthodox method with the possible exception of seoi nage and tai otoshi. I'm talking about in live randori with someone who knows what they are doing of course. They certainly don't look as beautiful as they do when demonstrating on uke. I'm only going to ask you once...
